Fulton County approves $230,699.51 state grant for 911 projects, hires per-diem dispatcher

Fulton County Commissioners on Dec. 30 approved a State Interconnectivity Grant in the amount of $230,699.51 to support a suite of 911-related maintenance and upgrade projects. EMA/911 Director Brian Barton and HR Administrator Mary Huston reviewed the grant, which the record says will be used for SouthCentral Mountain CAD maintenance, SouthCentral Mountain CHE maintenance, SouthCentral Mountain ESInet maintenance, Fulton NG911 GIS maintenance, a SouthCentral Mountain battery upgrade and Fulton ILEC maintenance projects.
Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to approve and execute the grant agreement and the board voted unanimously in favor. The approval directs the county to apply the funds to the projects listed in the grant documentation as recorded in the meeting minutes.
During the same meeting, Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to hire Troy Wagaman as a per-diem 911 dispatcher, effective pending required clearances. The minutes record that a brief Salary Board meeting was held at 9:48 a.m. to set the salary for the newly hired dispatcher; the transcript does not specify the salary amount.
The board also entered an executive session for personnel matters at 10:01 a.m. and exited at 10:29 a.m.; the meeting adjourned at 11:15 a.m.
