Camp Verde council approves up to $100,000 contract for sludge-lagoon cleanup at wastewater plant

Utilities Director Jeff Low said the firm will conduct required sampling and provide oversight for material removal from the plant’s sludge lagoons to ensure work meets Arizona Department of Environmental Quality standards and the town’s existing sludge-drying practices. Town Manager Miranda Fisher and Director Low answered council questions about the scope of work and compliance requirements.
Councilor Jessie Murdock moved to approve the contract; Vice Mayor Wendy Escoffier seconded the motion. The roll-call vote was 7-0 in favor: Councilor Brian Bolton, Councilor Patricia Seybold, Councilor Robert Foreman, Councilor Jessie Murdock, Councilor Robin Godwin, Vice Mayor Wendy Escoffier and Mayor Marie Moore all voted aye.
The contract is with Adam and Wendt for professional environmental services, described in the agenda as sampling and oversight of material removal of sludge lagoons, and is limited to an amount not to exceed $100,000. The council’s action authorizes staff to finalize the agreement and proceed with the work under the stated terms.
