Camp Verde receives retail recruitment briefing, unveils draft 2026 General Plan and issues fall proclamations

During its Oct. 8, 2025 special session, the Camp Verde Town Council received several community‑oriented presentations and proclamations.
Mayor Marie Moore presented a proclamation designating October 2025 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month to Holly Hulen, board secretary of Verde Valley Sanctuary. The mayor also presented a proclamation designating October as Fort Verde State Historic Park Month to Park Manager Jennifer Steffan and proclaimed Oct. 13, 2025 as the United States Navy’s 250th birthday.
Economic Development Specialist Dave Meyers introduced Aaron Farmer, National Project Director for Retail Coach, LLC. Farmer reviewed a four‑month retail recruitment strategy for the town, including an analysis of market conditions and trade area, an assessment of retail demand and development opportunities, and recommendations for marketing and branding to support recruitment. Farmer answered Council questions about the firm's approach and next steps.
Town Manager Miranda Fisher introduced the final draft of the 2026 General Plan, which staff, commission members and community participants compiled. Fisher reviewed the timeline for Council and community input, and outlined key dates for public feedback and future Council consideration of the plan.
No votes were required for the proclamations or the informational presentations. Councilors and staff encouraged community review of the General Plan and noted opportunities for public comment at upcoming meetings.
