Buffalo County commissioners ratify payroll, authorize payment options and approve administrative items
Summary
At its Oct. 11 meeting the Buffalo County Board ratified payroll, proclaimed Fire Prevention Week and Manufacturing Month, authorized County Clerk to pursue debit/credit payments for taxpayers, renewed a Caterpillar skidsteer lease for Facilities, accepted a Keno audit, and approved several routine personnel and vehicle tax items.
The Buffalo County Board of Commissioners used its Oct. 11 meeting to complete multiple administrative and routine items.
Commissioners ratified payroll claims processed Oct. 7 and approved an early claim for motor-fuel tax. Commissioner Bill Maendele read and the board adopted Resolution 2022-40 proclaiming Oct. 9–15 as Fire Prevention Week; Vice Chairman Sherry Morrow read and the board adopted Resolution 2022-41 proclaiming October as Manufacturing Month.
County Clerk Janice Giffin was authorized to proceed with implementing debit and credit card processing for taxpayer services after the board voted to allow the clerk to move forward. Facilities Director Steve Gaasch presented a renewal of the Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation skidsteer lease for the Facilities Department; the board authorized the chairman to sign the renewal.
Other actions included accepting the Keno audit prepared by KSO CPAs and Advisors for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022; approving a manager application for Amber Francisco in connection with the Pilot Travel Center #901 liquor license; and approving a motor vehicle tax exemption for Crossroads International Student Ministries on two Ford Econoline vehicles. The board also approved a $3,462.32 tax refund for parcel 480333803 (Deann Teneyck), and authorized the Election Commissioners office to remain open on Nov. 11, 2022 with employees taking a floating holiday.
