The Buffalo County Board of Equalization approved final property tax levies for 2022–23 during the Oct. 11 meeting.
County Treasurer Jean Sidwell presented the levy schedule and Deputy County Assessor Roy Meusch was present for the session. The board adopted Resolution 2022-43, which lists county fund levies including General 0.312392, Bond 0.020340 and Veteran's Aid 0.000291 for a total county levy of 0.333023. The resolution also records levies for fire districts, cities and school districts as published in the meeting materials.
The motion to approve final levies passed with six Aye votes; Commissioner Ronald Loeffelholz recorded an abstention. The Board of Equalization then approved tax list corrections and valuation changes submitted by County Assessor Ethel Skinner and took a motor vehicle tax exemption action for Crossroads International Student Ministries on two vehicles. After completing equalization business the board reconvened as the regular Board of Commissioners.
