The Buffalo County Board of Equalization on Aug. 9 authorized the county attorney’s office to confess judgment in two Tax Equalization & Review Commission (TERC) appeals, establishing assessed valuations for tax year 2021.
Deputy County Attorney Andrew Hoffmeister reviewed Case #21C-0552 (Kearney Lodging, LLC). The board moved, by Ronald Loeffelholz with Timothy Higgins seconding, to confess judgment on behalf of the county and record an assessed valuation of $3,632,730 for parcel #600082000; the motion carried on a unanimous vote.
The board then moved, by Ronald Loeffelholz with Timothy Higgins seconding, to confess judgment in Case #21C-0116 (JAY CHEHAR, LLC) and set the assessed valuation for parcel #603741024 at $724,320 for tax year 2021; the motion carried unanimously.
The minutes state the county attorney’s office was authorized to confess judgment on behalf of the board for both cases. No public comment on these items was recorded during the meeting.
