Buffalo County schedules final vote on 2022–23 budget after brief public hearing

The Buffalo County Board of Commissioners opened a public hearing on the county’s fiscal year 2022–2023 budget at 10:02 a.m. on Sept. 13, then moved the final decision to the board’s Sept. 27 meeting.
Board Administrator Lynn Martin summarized the proposed revenues and expenditures and provided a comparison to the prior year’s budget, saying the summary was filed with the County Clerk. No members of the public addressed the board during the hearing. Chairman Ivan Klein closed the hearing at 10:06 a.m. and the board voted to take final action on the budget at its next regular meeting on Sept. 27, 2022.
The move to postpone final approval gives staff time to incorporate any additional materials or adjustments requested by commissioners; the board did not take a final vote on revenues, expenditure totals or tax rates at the Sept. 13 session. The hearing record and the administrator’s summary are on file with County Clerk Janice I. Giffin.
The board is scheduled to consider and vote on the budget at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022.
