Kingfisher County commissioners table fire-truck award, extend chip-seal deadline and approve right-of-way requests

Kingfisher County commissioners on Nov. 3 unanimously tabled the award of a brush truck for the Omega Fire Department, approved a change order extending a county chip-sealing contract deadline and authorized multiple road right-of-way requests for an energy company.
Chairman Anthony Schwarz moved to table the award of Bid #4-25-26 for the Omega Fire Department brush truck until Nov. 10, 2025, to allow the fire department additional time to review bids. Mike Sparks seconded the motion; Vice Chairman Jeff Moss joined Schwarz and Sparks in a unanimous vote. Bids listed in the agenda were Myder, LLC at $139,800; Jim's Welding Service at $214,000; Northwest Fabrication at $124,350; and J and J Custom Fire Inc at $175,000.
Commissioner Mike Sparks moved and Jeff Moss seconded approval of Change Order #3 to the Kingfisher County 2025 Fall Chip contract with Zyzer Asphalt, extending the contract deadline from Dec. 15, 2025, to June 30, 2026. The board voted unanimously to approve the extension. County staff presented the change order as a timeline adjustment for completion of the chip-seal work.
The board also approved Notice to Bidders, Bid #7-25-26, a six-month solicitation for road and bridge materials and commercial roadway work covering all districts; that action was moved by Jeff Moss and seconded by Mike Sparks and passed unanimously.
Commissioners approved multiple road right-of-way requests submitted by Glenn Energy Services. The approvals covered several 4-inch steel pipeline locations across specified sections in Districts 1 and 3 as listed on the agenda; the motion was made by Anthony Schwarz, seconded by Mike Sparks and carried on a unanimous vote. Separately, the board approved a 324A right-of-way claim for JP 29362(04) after a motion by Sparks and a second from Moss.
The Assessor (not named in the minutes) told commissioners she is researching vendors to provide a new public property-search webpage after the county's current provider stopped offering free public searches; commissioners took the report as information and no action was taken.
The meeting opened at 9:00 a.m. and adjourned at 9:23 a.m. after a motion to adjourn from Jeff Moss, seconded by Mike Sparks. The vote on adjournment was unanimous.
