Grant County commissioners approve routine claims, equipment surpluses and permits; hear Earnhart Companies presentation

At its Feb. 23 meeting the Grant County BOCC approved blanket purchase orders, multiple purchase orders and travel claims, surplus and disposal of county equipment, a $3,500 Pinnacle invoice and a permit for an electric line; Butch Kraft of Earnhart Companies presented a lubricants proposal to the districts.
The Grant County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 23 approved a series of routine fiscal and operational items and received a vendor presentation on maintenance supplies.
During opening business, the board accepted a presentation from Butch Kraft of Earnhart Companies comparing oils and lubricants for county road districts; Kraft told commissioners he would follow up with district staff on grease information. Following that presentation, commissioners approved Blanket Purchase Orders and then voted to approve a set of purchase orders and travel claims recorded in the minutes across multiple funds, including significant charges listed to the Oklahoma State Department of Health ($14,162.77 and $15,760.65) and a number of vendor payments to Amazon Capital Services, Pioneer Telephone, and others.
The board unanimously approved several surplus and disposal actions: Resolutions 2026-17 and 2026-18 to surplus and dispose of a Galaxy S23 assigned to the Assessor (serial ending CEGMA), and Resolution 2026-19 to surplus two 2023 Case Farmall tractors (s/n ending 42092 and 45756) and a Wood 15' Batwing mower (s/n ending 40007) for District 3. Commissioners also approved Permit #1-2026 for Kay Electric to install an electric line in District 2 and authorized payment of a Pinnacle invoice for $3,500 related to Project EW 15 over Osage Creek (J/P 29862(04)) in District 1.
The board amended a Notice to Bidder (Bid #2026-01) to add language allowing lease/purchase, trade-in and financing options for two new tractors. Chair Steve Stinson moved to accept three culvert donation resolutions (donations by Donald Ayers, John Ayers and Tyson Neilson totaling $1,846.00 across the three donations); each donation resolution passed 3-0.
District reports followed: McClure said District 1 crews were grading and hauling rock on the State Line between County Roads 820 and 830; Fredrick said District 2 remains short one grader and is finishing a CED grant project; Stinson said District 3 is hauling rock on Ellis from Trenton to County Road 132. No action was taken on proposed courthouse signs or decals. The meeting adjourned at 9:48 a.m.
