Grant County commissioners approve routine claims, personnel designations and bridge title sheet; set fair board elections

At the Jan. 12 meeting in Medford the Grant County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved routine claims and administrative items, designated a receiving officer, approved a state‑aid bridge title sheet and adopted a resolution setting Free Fair Board elections for 2026. The board took no action on an ambulance contractor bid handled by the 522 Ambulance District.
The Grant County Board of Commissioners met on Jan. 12, 2026 in Medford and unanimously approved a slate of routine fiscal and administrative items, including transfer of appropriations, blanket purchase orders and purchase orders and travel claims.
Commissioner Craig A. Fredrick moved to approve the transfer of appropriations; Commissioner Keith McClure seconded and the board voted Stinson—aye; McClure—aye; Fredrick—aye. The board also approved a long list of vendor claims across county funds, including 911 phone payments and highway, health and general fund disbursements, as read into the record.
The board accepted several monthly reports and administrative items: it approved officers' monthly reports for December 2025 (County Clerk, District Attorney, Election Board, Court Clerk, County Treasurer, County Sheriff, County Assessor and Health Department) subject to audit; and it approved the Court Clerk Records Management & Preservation report showing a reconciled balance of $14,535.44.
On personnel and financial administration, the board revoked receiving officer status for Commissioner Craig A. Fredrick for specified funds and designated Commissioner Steve Stinson as receiving officer for those funds. Commissioners also approved the Bank of America P‑card statement for December 2025 totaling $2,247.40 and approved a bill of sale transferring a Lamont fire brush rig to county records.
In infrastructure planning, Commissioners approved a DOT title sheet for a proposed county bridge under State Aid Project NO. CIRB‑227D(012)RB‑D1. The approval advances preliminary county authorization; state review and additional approvals will be required before any construction proceeds.
The board adopted Resolution 2026‑04 to set the 2026 Free Fair Board elections of directors. It took no action on Bid #01‑2026 (FY26‑27 Ambulance Service Contractor for the 522 Ambulance District), noting the 522 Ambulance Board administers that bidding process; bid packets will be available at the County Clerk’s office.
Commissioners also heard routine road and maintenance updates: Commissioner Craig A. Fredrick said District 2 has a grader out of service while grading and hauling; Commissioner Keith McClure said District 1 completed mowing and is addressing water problems at the barn and signage work; and Chair Steve Stinson reported culvert installation and rock hauling in District 3 and a staffing change with one employee leaving and a new employee in training. The meeting adjourned at 10:09 a.m.
