Montevallo council unanimously approves transfer of alcohol and tobacco licenses for 4570 Highway 25

The Montevallo City Council on Jan. 26 unanimously approved the transfer of several Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) licenses for the business at 4570 Highway 25, trading as Montevallo Foods, to Prime Stop Foods LLC (BP Food Mart).
Council Member David King moved to approve the transfers during the regular meeting; Council Member Kenneth Dukes seconded the motion and the vote was recorded as “all ayes.” Mayor Rusty Nix and Council Members Lelia Mitchell, Brandelyn Nelson and Alyssa Green were present and voted in favor.
The council approved transfers that, in the application materials entered into the record, included: a retail beer and retail table wine off-premises license (Confirmation No. 20251121134538894), a tobacco-only permit (Confirmation No. 20251121150128605) and a Lounge Retail Liquor — Class II (package sales) license (Confirmation No. 20251121152323740). The applications list the business location as 4570 Highway 25, Montevallo, and identify Prime Stop Foods LLC as the applicant.
Police Chief Burr told the council he conducted an on-site inspection of the premises the prior week; that inspection was cited during discussion as part of routine local review before council approval. Transfer paperwork in the meeting appendices shows prior licensee Miraj, Inc., d/b/a Montevallo Foods, and the new operator’s representative listed as Faiaz Daredia, president of Prime Stop Foods LLC.
The council approved the action as part of New Business; the vote was recorded at the council meeting immediately following a work session. The city minutes list the motion as passed and note the relevant license confirmation numbers in appendices attached to the meeting record.
The council did not place conditions on the transfer at the meeting. State ABC processing and final licensing remain subject to the board’s administrative procedures and to any state-level review required by law. The meeting adjourned at 6:08 p.m.
