The Union County Board of County Commissioners on Jan. 29 presented a resolution recognizing UCNJ—Union College of Union County—and President Dr. Margaret McMenamin for being listed as one of 200 institutions eligible to compete for the 2027 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence.
Chairman Joseph C. Bodek and Commissioner Lourdes M. Leon joined in congratulating the college, and Dr. McMenamin thanked the Board for its partnership and support of UCNJ students and programs. The Board said the recognition reflected the county’s pride in educational partnership and leadership.
The item was presented as a ceremonial resolution during the agenda-setting session. No new county funding was announced in conjunction with the recognition.
