Union County honors Fire/EMS Training Academy instructors for 2025 recruiting class

The Union County Board of County Commissioners presented a resolution Jan. 29 recognizing volunteer instructors at the Union County Fire/EMS Training Academy for providing extensive instruction to the Academy's 2025 recruiting class. Chairman Joseph C. Bodek led the recognition and said the Board was proud to honor the instructors for their time, effort and commitment to training the next generation of firefighters.
Commissioner Alexander Mirabella, who serves as the Fire Services Advisory Board liaison, noted his appreciation for the instructors’ dedication. County officials listed the honorees and thanked them for contributing instructional time and professional expertise that supports countywide emergency response preparedness.
The Board’s recognition covers instructors who, according to the resolution text presented to the Board, each provided more than 200 hours of instruction to recruits. The resolution named Richard Rannou, Wayne Hanns, Mark O'Grady, Leonardo Spina Sr., Charles Wisnowski, Robert Moran, Carlos Gonzalez, Brad Fleischman, James Reedman, Jih-Chih Mark Chai and Anthony Bianchi.
The recognition was presented during the agenda-setting session; no formal policy action or funding changes were announced as part of the presentation. The Board adjourned the session at 6:27 p.m.
