The King and Queen County Board of Supervisors opened a public hearing Sept. 9 on a citizen request that VDOT review restricting through truck traffic on Rt. 632 and Rt. 633. County Administrator Ms. Seay informed the board that an internal map error had omitted Rt. 634 from the published notice, and recommended readvertising the matter to include Rt. 634.
Ann Marie Voight of the Stevensville District spoke during the public hearing and said she did not support restricting Mantua Road from Rt. 14 to Hockley Neck Road but did support restrictions on the other roads under review. With the notice error acknowledged, the board moved to table the request and readvertise to include Rt. 634; the motion passed unanimously, with Supervisor S.C. Alsop absent.
The public hearing record in the minutes contains only the one public comment and the board’s decision to reissue notice; no timeline was set for readvertisement and no further actions were scheduled at the meeting.
