Fire chief briefs Bluff council on Community Wildfire Preparedness Plan; town’s CWS contribution noted as about $17/year

Fire Chief Anthony Lott briefed the Bluff Town Council on Feb. 17 about the Community Wildfire Preparedness Plan (CWPP) revision and Bluff’s role in the Cooperative Wildfire System (CWS).
Lott said the CWPP is revised every five years and that Bluff participates by providing in-kind activities (fire mitigation weekends, volunteer training and response time, public education) and annual payments. He said Bluff’s recent reconfiguration of obligations now comes to about $17 per year. Lott emphasized that the CWPP drives annual in-kind match needs and includes Wilderness Urban Interface (WUI) maps guiding mitigation priorities around Bluff.
Mayor Ewing asked whether any specific inputs or signatures were required from the council; Lott said he would review the signatories and follow up with council and staff.
