Camp Verde adopts new Monday–Thursday hours after staff report operational gaps

The Camp Verde Town Council on Dec. 17 approved revised town office hours to address operational gaps identified after the town moved to a 4/10 work schedule.
Town Manager Miranda Fisher told the council the compressed schedule led to limited public use between 5 and 6 p.m. and service gaps caused by staggered employee schedules. Staff recommended setting town office hours to Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and setting library opening time to 9:00 a.m. daily. Council approved Resolution 2025-1196 by a 6-1 vote; Councilor Robert Foreman voted no.
Town Attorney Trish Stuhan said she will confer with outside counsel (Attorney Steve Coleman) to review employment-law implications of the proposed hours, including how unpaid lunch breaks could affect daily hours and compliance. During public comment, Cheri Wischmeyer recommended a Monday–Thursday schedule running 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to preserve a 30-minute lunch window.
The resolution supersedes a prior hours-resolution and directs staff to return with any legal clarifications the attorney deems necessary before full implementation.
