Buffalo County commissioners ratify payroll, approve transfers and vendor claims; open gravel bids for 2022–23

At its Feb. 22, 2022 meeting the Buffalo County Board of Commissioners handled routine financial business and administrative approvals, voting unanimously on each recorded roll call.
The board approved the Feb. 8 meeting minutes and ratified payroll claims processed Feb. 11, 2022. The minutes list General Fund net payroll of $279,035.43 and Road Fund net payroll of $54,501.59 among other fund totals. The board approved a budgeted transfer of $25,000 from the General Fund (100) to the Weed District Fund (5400).
The Board accepted the Buffalo County Treasurer’s January 2022 Fund Balance Report and accepted the December 2021 Community Action Partnership of Mid-Nebraska RYDE Report. It also approved the release of pledged collateral for the Buffalo County Treasurer at NebraskaLand National Bank in the amount of $2,474,130.45 and approved an amendment to the First Concord Benefits Group Flexible Benefits Plan.
County Clerk Janice Giffin read aloud a multi-page list of February vendor claims to utilities, legal services, medical providers, contractors and other vendors; the board approved the claims by roll call. Highway Superintendent John Maul was present while bids for gravel supply (April 1, 2022–March 31, 2023) were opened and read into the record from Broadfoot Sand and Gravel Co. Inc., T & F Sand & Gravel Inc., Mid Nebraska Aggregate Inc., and Ed Broadfoot & Sons Sand & Gravel Inc.; the Road Committee and the superintendent will review bids and return recommendations at the March 8 meeting.
Where the minutes record roll-call votes, each motion carried with Loeffelholz, Kouba, Higgins, Lynch, Maendele, Morrow and Klein voting Aye. The meeting adjourned at 9:54 A.M.; the board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for March 8, 2022.
