Ringgold County secondary roads report: crews, work orders and a rural roadway resiliency grant application

County Engineer Jared Johnson reported progress across multiple secondary-roads activities at the March 9 meeting, including excavation and grinding in the northwest maintainer district, hauling spot rock to several districts, fabricating bridge guardrail posts, replacing deteriorated street signs and receiving and sorting material loads at the yard.

Johnson noted that precast box culvert sections were hauled and unloaded at Middle Fork 7 and that detailed drawings for the Middle Fork 10 project have been completed while quantities are being prepared. He said once Middle Fork 10 documents are final, plans for the Poe 17 project will be finalized.

The department developed and submitted an application for Community Project Funding for the 'Ringgol,d County Rural Roadway Resil,iency lnitiative.' The proposed package listed routes and segments including P68 from Ketterton to (text in minutes unclear), J45 from Ketterton to the Decatur County line, P68 & J45 Farm-to-Market extensions through Ketterton, and 163rd Street from P68 to Beaconsfield; the minutes state community support was illustrated with letters from diverse individuals and entities.

Work orders reported in the minutes included W.O. 1433 and 1435 (culvert replacements) marked complete, and W.O. 1432 (brush clearing and ditch reshaping along 208th between P68 and 325th Ave.) listed as in progress. The minutes record routine maintenance and project preparation activities but do not include specific timelines for grant outcomes or construction starts for the listed projects.
