Planning Commission elects 2020 officers and adopts modified meeting rules

The Charlotte County Planning Commission reorganized at its Jan. 28 meeting, electing Deborah Haskins as chair, Clark Poindexter as First Vice-Chair, W.V. Nichols as Second Vice-Chair and selecting Monica Elder as the commission secretary.
The commission adopted Robert’s Rules of Order for Small Groups with a standing modification requiring a second for all motions and allowing the chair, or a majority vote of members present, to solicit limited input from people other than the commissioners on approved agenda items (the order, timing and duration of such input is at the chair’s discretion). The commission also set its regular meeting date for the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Charlotte County Administration Office, with meetings at 7:30 p.m. during daylight saving months and 7:00 p.m. at other times.
Commissioners approved the Dec. 11, 2019 minutes as presented. No public comment speakers signed up at the meeting.
