Commission hears update on Red House Solar I, supervisors flagged decommissioning estimate and impact fees

Commissioners asked for an update on the Red House Solar I project during the Jan. 28 meeting. Assistant County Administrator Monica Elder said the Board of Supervisors held a Jan. 13 work session on the project and was expected to take a vote at its Feb. 10 meeting.
Ms. Elder said the Board's primary concerns centered on the decommissioning estimate and on proposed impact fees. Board Representative Kay Pierantoni provided an overview of her concerns about both the decommissioning estimate and the level of impact fees. No formal action was taken by the Planning Commission on the project at the Jan. 28 meeting; the report was informational and commissioners requested no vote on a county position at that time.
Any formal zoning action or conditions associated with the solar project would be considered in subsequent meetings or by the Board of Supervisors when it takes up the project.
