Board awards circuit court roof contract, ratifies warrants and approves $379,011.35 school construction appropriation

Capital Projects Manager Quentin Mascari recommended awarding the circuit court roof and trim replacement contract to Evans Contracting, the lowest bidder at $100,340. Mascari said the bid includes a fixed per-sheet price for any sheathing that must be replaced once the existing roof is removed; he estimated sheathing replacement could be roughly 10–15% of the job if required. The Board approved the contract and set a not-to-exceed amount of $120,000.
On finance items, the Board ratified Dec. 23, 2024 warrants (subject to audit), approved the county’s January 2025 warrants and payroll, and approved an appropriation of School Construction Funds in the amount of $379,011.35, each by unanimous vote.
Board members asked how many bids were received; Mascari said three were requested, two were submitted and one company chose not to bid. The contract amount is within the FY2025 budgeted funds for the capital project, staff said.
