The Roosevelt County Commission on April 1, 2025 adopted Resolution 2025-14 directing the publication and mailing of notices of its intent to consider an ordinance that would authorize taxable Industrial Revenue Bonds (IRBs) for the DG Sundale, LLC project in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $17,325,000.
Peter Kelton reviewed the IRB timeline and told the commission the earliest possible date for an ordinance to appear on a future agenda would be May 6, 2025, after required publication. Kelton said negotiations over PILOT (payment in lieu of taxes) terms would begin following approval of the resolution. The commission appointed Commissioners Paul Grider and Roy Lee Criswell to serve on a committee for those negotiations.
Commissioners voted unanimously to adopt the resolution. The action authorizes staff and bond counsel to begin the public-notice process and to proceed with negotiations ahead of any ordinance adoption.
