Roosevelt County Commission holds special meeting, enters executive session; no action taken

The Roosevelt County Commission convened a special meeting on Sept. 2, 2025, in the County Commission Room at the Roosevelt County Courthouse in Portales. Commission Chair Tina Dixon called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. and the commission unanimously approved the agenda.
Commissioner Roy Lee Criswell moved at 9:02 a.m. to enter an executive session, with Commissioner Paul Grider seconding the motion. The motion carried on a unanimous vote: Commissioners Paul Grider, Roy Lee Criswell, Tina Dixon, Malin Parker and Fabian Munoz all voted yes. County Attorney Randall Van Vleck participated by Zoom; County Manager Andrew Patterson was called into the closed session at about 9:30 a.m.
At 10:27 a.m. Commissioner Malin Parker moved to end the executive session, seconded by Commissioner Roy Lee Criswell. Upon returning to open session, Commission Chair Tina Dixon stated that "only those items on the agenda were discussed in executive session," and that no formal action was taken or needed as a result of the closed meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 10:28 a.m.
The minutes recorded the meeting attendance as Commissioners Paul Grider, Roy Lee Criswell, Tina Dixon, Malin Parker and Fabian Munoz; County Attorney Randall Van Vleck (by Zoom); County Manager Andrew Patterson; Clerk Mandi M.
