Roosevelt County commissioners authorized a $6,000 cash match to pursue a Behavioral Health Regional Infrastructure Act grant aimed at supporting a new regional behavioral-health facility. Interim County Manager Layle Sanchez said the county’s portion represents half of the required 25% cash match ($12,000 total), with the remaining match provided as in-kind contributions; the overall grant request was increased from $45,000 to $60,000.
Commissioner Paul Grider asked whether sufficient opioid-settlement funds remain to cover the $6,000 cash commitment. Sanchez said she did not have an exact remaining balance available during the meeting but said there would still be ample funds after this expense. Commissioner Tina Dixon moved to proceed with the county’s $6,000 match from pledged opioid-settlement funds; the motion passed unanimously.
Sanchez also noted the San Juan Mesa re-power IRB ordinance is pending negotiation; that item remains under staff review.
