The Camp Verde Mayor and Common Council on Jan. 14 authorized up to $250,000 from an existing WIFA infrastructure grant to complete replacement of the town's remaining water meters and to integrate the new meters with Town systems. The council also authorized staff to award the installation contract to Tierra Water Management.
Utilities Director Lisa Vaughan and Water Division Manager Rich Jewel presented an overview of the project, describing the scope as replacement and integration of smart/ integrated meters, a required grant match, and visual inspections with photographic documentation at each installation. Town Manager Miranda Fisher, Vaughan and Jewel answered council questions before the motion was made.
Councilor Brian Bolton moved the measure, Vice Mayor Wendy Escoffier seconded it, and the council approved the authorization by roll call: Bolton—aye; Seybold—aye; Foreman—aye; Murdock—aye; Godwin—aye; Escoffier—aye; Moore—aye. The motion carried 7-0. The minutes record that the approval would authorize staff to award the installation contract to Tierra Water Management.
The minutes do not specify a project schedule, exact contract amount, or the required grant-match dollar figure; those details were described in staff presentation but not included in the published minutes. The council’s action authorizes staff to proceed with procurement and implementation under the terms of the existing WIFA grant.
