Several routine but consequential items were approved during June meetings of the Unified Government of Cusseta‑Chattahoochee County.
Employee insurance renewal: Commissioners voted unanimously to accept the proposed fee schedule for employee insurance. The motion was made by Commissioner Jason Frost and seconded by Commissioner Gerald Douglas.
Georgia Forestry Commission Fire Tower Agreement: The board approved an agreement with the Georgia Forestry Commission, authorizing the chairman to sign a contract running July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025. The agreement caps the county payment for the contract period at $4,738.58.
LRCTA reappointments: The commission reappointed Commissioner Timothy Biddle to the Lower Chattahoochee Regional Transportation Authority for a term through June 30, 2028, and reappointed Commissioner Gerald Douglas to a term through June 30, 2026. Both reappointments were approved by unanimous motion.
GA‑520 roundabout grant: The commissioners accepted a roundabout grant for GA Highway 520 that includes utility relocation costs and a 40/60 match; the county indicated it will not pay more than $52,000 if the project cap is exceeded.
All listed votes were recorded as unanimous in the minutes and attended by the commission or their designees. Several of these items were discussed briefly during the May/June work sessions and were then approved as motions during the regular meeting.
