Cusseta–Chattahoochee work session: Friendship Road paving complete; new payment portal to launch Dec. 1

Vice Chairman Timothy Biddle called the Nov. 24, 2025 work session of the Commission of the Unified Government of Cusseta–Chattahoochee County to order at 9:00 a.m.; Chairman Charles Coffey was absent.

County Manager Thomas Weaver gave department updates, saying Friendship Road has been paved and the county is awaiting striping and material samples. Weaver said Public Works completed a storage-slab and City Hall interior demo work is underway, that Water had repaired three small leaks and completed well #4 on Patty Drive pending sample results, and that the county posted its holiday trash schedule.

Weaver also said the county will launch a new Caselle payment portal on Dec. 1, replacing Xpressbill Pay; once live, residents will be able to use credit cards at the recycle center. He distributed a newsletter and permit list to commissioners and recommended adding several items to the Dec. 2 regular meeting agenda: a proposed 2026 commission meeting calendar (three options for work-session timing), a 2026 employee holiday calendar, reappointing Thomas Weaver to the Two Rivers board, and an ACCG retirement resolution.

The work session entered executive session at 9:16 a.m. for land issues and reconvened at 9:41 a.m. Vice Chairman Biddle adjourned the session at 9:42 a.m.

Next steps noted in the minutes include staff follow-up on payment-portal publicity, striping scheduling for Friendship Road, and returning to the commission with the Dec. 2 agenda items for formal vote.
