Cusseta‑Chattahoochee commissioners approve road bids, dock and building contracts and reappoint regional rep

The Commission of the Unified Government of Cusseta‑Chattahoochee County on Oct. 7 approved a series of procurement and staffing items across public works and facilities.
The board voted unanimously to advertise bids for resurfacing Riverbend Road and Liberty Hill Road (motion by Commissioner Timothy Biddle, seconded by Commissioner Jason Frost). The commission accepted the sole bid for the Riverbend fishing dock from Wahoo Dock (mover: Biddle; seconder: Frost).
The board awarded the concrete slab for a storage building at 215 McNaughton St. to Chattahoochee Concrete and the building itself to North Carolina Carports (motion by Biddle; second Frost). For a City Hall welcome‑center refurbishment the board accepted the lower bid from Chattahoochee Concrete (motion by Jason Frost; second by Gerald Douglas).
The commission approved adding kennel runs at the Cusseta dog pound, awarding concrete to Rock Solid Construction, fencing to United Fencing and the building to McGuire Buildings. The board also declared two county structures—one on King Street and the old fire station on Fire Tower Road—surplus and authorized demolition; minutes note a plan to keep the old fire station slab in case a replacement is sited there.
Finally, the commission reappointed Rob Marion to represent the county on the River Valley Regional Commission for a term beginning Oct. 7, 2025 and expiring Oct. 7, 2027; the resolution was adopted unanimously.
