Cusseta‑Chattahoochee commissioners approve tractor trade, Friendship Road bid specs, reappoint Carol Greer and OK CUP for Firetower Road

At its June 3 regular meeting the Cusseta‑Chattahoochee County Board of Commissioners handled multiple routine agenda items by unanimous vote.
Equipment trade and surplus: County Manager Thomas Weaver asked the board to declare a 2008 Massey Ferguson tractor surplus and authorize trading it to Carlson Brothers toward purchase of a New Holland tractor for $10,000. Commissioner Timothy Biddle moved to amend the agenda to include the request, and the board approved the amendment and the subsequent trade motion; the minutes record unanimous votes.
Road work: The board approved placing Friendship Road out for bid; the manager said the bid specification will include one coat, striping and resurfacing. Bids are expected in late July with a potential award in August, depending on contractor workload.
Appointments and permits: The commission reappointed Carol Greer to Post 3 of the Board of Tax Assessors for a four‑year term through June 1, 2029. The board also approved a conditional use permit for 410 Firetower Road (Spillers), a 15.13‑acre parcel where a manufactured home will be placed; Chairman Charles Coffey noted adjacent land held in a trust that is unlikely to be developed and said that knowledge of occupancy informed the decision.
Executive session: The board entered executive session at 6:45 p.m. for legal, tax, property and personnel matters and reconvened at 7:04 p.m. with no votes taken during the closed session.
All routine motions on the June 3 agenda were recorded as unanimous among the members present.
