At its May 6 meeting the commission approved three procedural finance and procurement items: a TSPLOST-funded tractor purchase, a resolution naming County Manager Thomas Weaver as an authorized signer for the Unified Government's Ozark Bank accounts, and a motion to table consideration of a proposed garbage-rate increase pending further staff research.
Commissioner Timothy Biddle moved to accept the lower tractor quote from Carson Bros and Commissioner Gerald Douglas seconded; the vote was unanimous. A written proposal on file from Carson Bros listed a 2023 New Holland Workmaster 95 at $40,681 (tax-exempt; freight included).
Commissioner Jason Frost moved to add Weaver as a designated signer at Ozark Bank; Commissioner Douglas seconded and the vote was unanimous. The formal resolution directs the bank be furnished specimen signatures and continues in effect until written notice of modification.
On the proposed garbage-rate increase, Commissioner Jason Frost moved to table the matter so staff could research the cost of bringing garbage operations back in-house; Commissioner Damon Hoyte seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
All three votes were unanimous; no public speakers addressed these agenda items during the meeting. The tractor purchase will be funded from TSPLOST as stated in the motion.
