The Buffalo County Board of Equalization, meeting June 13 as part of the county board session, approved a set of tax-related actions and several motor-vehicle tax-exemption renewals.
County Assessor Roy Meusch presented Tax List Corrections numbered 4974 through 4984; the board approved the corrections on a roll-call motion. The board also approved valuation changes for named parcels submitted by the Assessor and accepted a Report of Destroyed Real Property (Form 425) for parcel 850000980 (Dana Snow) following a brief public hearing.
The board considered and approved motor-vehicle tax-exemption renewals submitted by County Treasurer Brenda Rohrich for multiple organizations. Approvals included Catholic High School of Kearney (motion carried with all Aye votes); Community Action Partnership of Mid-Nebraska (motion carried; Commissioner Myron Kouba recorded an abstention); Mid-Nebraska Individual Services (motion carried; Chairperson Ivan H. Klein recorded an abstention); and New Life Assembly (motion carried unanimously). Each renewal listed vehicles by year and description in the filed applications; the board’s votes and any abstentions were recorded on the roll calls.
The Board of Equalization adjourned and the Board of Commissioners resumed regular session at 10:35 a.m.
