Buffalo County accepts treasurer's report, ratifies payroll and adds $1.2 million in pledged collateral

The Buffalo County Board of Commissioners on July 25 accepted the County Treasurer's semi-annual report, ratified payroll and vendor claims, and approved two additions to pledged collateral totaling $1.2 million.
Commissioner Sherry Morrow moved to accept the Treasurer's semi-annual report; Commissioner Ronald Loeffelholz seconded, and the motion passed with all seven commissioners voting Aye. County Treasurer Brenda Rohrich was listed as present for the proceedings.
The board also approved two pledged-collateral additions for the county treasurer. On a motion by Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Myron Kouba, the board approved adding $300,000 in pledged collateral for the Buffalo County Treasurer at Firstier Bank. The board approved an additional $900,000 in pledged collateral at Nebraskaland National Bank on a motion by Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Bill Maendele. Both motions carried on unanimous roll call votes.
Routine administrative actions included ratification of payroll processed July 14 and approval of July vendor claims. Commissioner Sherry Morrow moved and Commissioner Ronald Loeffelholz seconded ratification of payroll claims; Commissioner Daniel Lynch moved and Commissioner Timothy Higgins seconded approval of July vendor claims. Both motions passed with all commissioners voting Aye. The meeting record includes a detailed payroll and vendor-claims register entered into the minutes.
The board approved a tax refund for parcel 340112101 (Kevin D. Lindenstein and wife) on a motion by Commissioner Bill Maendele, seconded by Commissioner Ronald Loeffelholz; the motion passed unanimously. The board also appointed Michaela Lewis to a five-year term on the City of Kearney Advisory Board of Park and Recreation; Commissioner Maendele moved and Commissioner Daniel Lynch seconded the appointment.
Chairperson Ivan H. Klein presided and County Clerk Heather Christensen recorded the proceedings. The board scheduled its next regular meeting for 9:00 A.M. on Aug. 8, 2023.
