The authorization was approved by a roll-call vote of the six commissioners present; Commissioner Ronald Loeffelholz was absent.
The board also proclaimed May 14–20, 2023, as "National Police Week" under Resolution 2023-27; Vice Chairperson Sherry Morrow read the proclamation and "thanked those who serve Buffalo County."
