The Buffalo County Board of Commissioners on March 14 finalized awards for county gravel contracts covering the period April 1, 2023, through March 31, 2024.
After the Road Committee and county highway staff reviewed submitted bids opened earlier in the meeting, the Board voted unanimously to award contracts as follows: Paulsen Inc. for Zones 1–8; Mid-Nebraska Aggregates for Zones 10, 14 and 16–26; Ed Broadfoot & Sons for Zones 9, 11, 12 and 15; and Southwest Gravel Products for Zone 13.
Highway Superintendent John Maul and Assistant Highway Superintendent Cory Jensen were present for the proceedings. The awards followed the county’s bid review process; motions to award were moved and seconded during the regular meeting and passed on roll-call votes with all present voting Aye.
The awards set contractor responsibility for pit-to-site supply for road maintenance over the next contract year. The Board also earlier set a bid date of April 11, 2023, to accept bids for Project No. C10 (1423), Structure No. C001025925 on Navaho Road over the South Loup River.
The Board’s motion to award the contracts carried unanimously.
