Staff reported to the Charlotte County Planning Commission on April 27 that the Board of Supervisors had approved an application by Kerwin and Beverly Kunath for a wedding and event venue with proposed conditions. County staff also said the proposed fiscal-year budget included funds to hire a consultant to assist with the comprehensive plan update and that staff expected to contract with the Commonwealth Regional Council (CRC) planning district office for those services.
Given growing citizen interest in establishing family cemeteries on existing parcels and concerns raised by the Board of Zoning Appeals about parcel division at Hermon Presbyterian Church cemetery, staff recommended the Planning Commission direct further research into zoning guidance for cemeteries. Commissioners asked staff to research the issue further and return with additional information at the next meeting.
Eugene Wells moved to adjourn the meeting; the motion carried.
