Commissioners report on dams, community mental health resolution; new assistant prosecutor introduced

During the Feb. 10 meeting Commissioners reported on local boards and projects. Chairperson Karen Moore updated the board on Four Lakes Task Force work: the Sanford dam is scheduled for completion by April and the Smallwood dam timeline may extend beyond earlier estimates. Moore said the board signed a resolution regarding Community Mental Health in response to proposed state changes; the minutes record the State has pulled the RFP for PIHPs.
Prosecutor Mark Toaz introduced new Assistant Prosecutor Stephen Durance, who previously filled in during conferences and will now serve full time. Durance thanked the board for the opportunity.
Other commissioner reports included updates on zoning, master plan steering committee activity, environmental and agricultural meetings, and local township discussions on garbage contracts. The Public Art Committee is soliciting mural submissions and will meet Feb. 20 at Redeemed Marketplace.
