The Gladwin County Board of Commissioners approved several routine items and departmental requests during its May 27 meeting, taking unanimous action on multiple motions.
The board approved the consent agenda, including minutes from the May 13 meeting. Commissioners voted to allow Chairperson Karen Moore to authorize drain staff Terry Walters or Lucy Zeestraten to sign reimbursement documents for the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) grant; the motion passed on roll call with Commissioners Visnaw, Donaldson, O'Donnell, Moore and Winarski voting aye.
Peter Preston from the Equalization office asked the board to approve and sign form L-4029; that motion passed on a roll call vote, with all five commissioners recorded as aye. Preston also requested the chair sign the annual Cost of Service Agreement for townships and cities; the board approved authorizing Chairperson Moore to sign the agreement after a motion by Commissioner Tami O'Donnell supported by Commissioner Mike Visnaw.
Matt McGourty, jail administrator, requested approval to purchase four new corrections vests from Safe Life Defense for $2,543.40, to be charged to line 101-351-758.000; commissioners approved the purchase on a roll call vote (all five ayes).
The board also acknowledged routine training payments within departmental budgets, including two $315 training enrollments. No contested votes or amendments were recorded on these items. The board adjourned at 10:29 a.m.
