Dale County Commission approves consent items, personnel travel and account reclassification

The Dale County Commission on Feb. 10 approved routine consent items, personnel travel and an accounting reclassification.
Commissioner Chris Carroll moved to approve the agenda, the Jan. 27, 2026 meeting minutes, and the memorandum of warrants (accounts payable checks 104484-104621; payroll checks 155072-155073; direct deposit numbers 435451-435599). Commissioner Donald O. Grantham seconded; the minutes record that "all voted aye" and the motion carried.
On personnel matters, the commission approved education travel to the Coroner Conference in Orange Beach, Alabama for John Cawley, Adam Bruhn, Kevin Rivera and Rickey Stokes. Commissioner Grantham made the motion, Commissioner Carroll seconded, and the motion carried.
The commission also approved an accounting reclassification in Fund 511 to shift accounts receivable to an allowance for doubtful debt in the amount of $351,239.69 as of Sept. 30, 2025. Commissioner Carroll moved the reclassification, Commissioner Grantham seconded and the motion carried with all present voting in favor.
Chairman Steve McKinnon announced the next regular meeting on Feb. 24, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., and the commission adjourned following a motion by Commissioner Carroll and second by Commissioner Grantham.
The minutes include a confirmatory statement ordering that the documents and resolutions be entered into the official minutes.
