The Dale County Commission voted unanimously Feb. 10 to adopt the countyproperty tax levy for the tax year beginning Oct. 1, 2025, certifying the rates required by Act 2014-433.
Commissioner Chris Carroll moved to approve the levy; Commissioner Donald O. Grantham seconded and "all voted aye," the minutes say. Chairman Steve McKinnon executed the resolution.
The resolution (Exhibit 1) lists the state portion at 6.5 mills (total of 0.0065) and county levies totaling 19.0 mills (0.019). School district and municipal millages are listed by district in the exhibit; example entries include Dale County #1 (4.0 + 1.0 mills), Ozark (21.0 mills), Dothan (various entries), Daleville (3.0 + 2.0 mills) and Enterprise (4.0 mills). The document also cites a countywide total millage example of 30.5 mills for areas outside municipal limits.
The resolution states the commission is certifying the levy to the county tax assessing official and that, pursuant to Act 2014-433, the levy and rates will remain in force in subsequent tax years until altered by the commission or a change in general law.
The commission did not record a roll-call breakdown by name; the minutes indicate the motion was seconded and approved with all present voting in favor. The resolution was signed and dated Feb. 10, 2026.
The commission set no additional conditions in the minutes; the resolution itself provides that the levy will be certified to the county tax assessing official and remain in effect until lawfully changed.
