Pleasant Valley volleyball honored and new tourism director introduced at Calhoun County Commission meeting

At the Dec. 18 meeting the Calhoun County Commission presented a proclamation and certificates to the Pleasant Valley High School Volleyball Team in recognition of their state championship.
Commissioner Patterson presented the proclamation; Head Coach Jennifer Mann thanked the commission, expressed pride in the team and noted strong community support.
During public introductions, Jakob Williamson, director of public affairs for the Chamber, presented Cher Dulaney as the newly appointed Tourism Director. Dulaney, identified as a lifelong county resident, said she intends to enhance experiences for residents and increase awareness among outside tourists about local attractions. Baker Ellis of Stifel also introduced himself to the commission.
These remarks were made during the public-comment portion of the meeting and did not result in formal action recorded in the minutes.
