The Calhoun County Commission voted Nov. 13 to approve two off-premises alcoholic beverage licenses and to authorize the county’s response to new license types created by the 2025 Alabama Legislature.
County Administrator Jonathan Gaddy presented second readings for two ABC Board applications: PSM400 Inc. d/b/a Raceway 7009 at 6331 U.S. Highway 431 in Alexandria, requesting a 050 — Retail Beer and 070 — Retail Table Wine license (off-premises), and Dolgencorp LLC d/b/a Dollar General Store 31472 at 4652 U.S. Highway 78 E in Anniston requesting the same license types. Commissioners Henderson and Wilson moved and seconded approval for Raceway; Commissioners Shears and Patterson moved/seconded approval for Dollar General. Both motions carried by unanimous voice votes.
Separately, Mr. Gaddy presented an Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board licensing and compliance form to establish county levies for new ABC license types created by the 2025 Alabama Legislative Session; Commissioner Shears moved to authorize the chairman to sign, seconded by Commissioner Henderson, and the commission approved the authorization by unanimous voice vote.
The minutes list the applications, addresses and license types and record the unanimous approvals; no hearings or objections were recorded in the minutes.
