Buffalo County approves 'Aspen Acres' administrative subdivision

The Buffalo County Board of Commissioners approved an administrative subdivision named "Aspen Acres" at its Feb. 14 meeting following a public hearing and staff review.
Chairperson Ivan Klein opened the hearing on a subdivision application filed by licensed land surveyor Trenton Snow on behalf of property owners David and Maris Bentley. Trenton Snow and David Bentley answered questions from commissioners during the hearing, and no members of the public spoke in opposition.
The Board voted 6-0 to approve the subdivision, adopting Resolution 2023-03. The resolution finds that the proposed plat is within the county's Agriculture zoning district, complies with minimum lot-size requirements, satisfies the county's subdivision resolution provisions for administrative subdivisions, and abuts state-maintained U.S. Highway 183, which requires no additional right-of-way. County staff reported that title documents were provided and cleared County Attorney review.
Under the resolution the Board authorized filing and recording the plat of "Aspen Acres" with the Register of Deeds. The resolution was moved by Commissioner Timothy Higgins and seconded by Commissioner Myron Kouba; the motion carried with Commissioners Higgins, Kouba, Loeffelholz, Lynch, Maendele and Klein voting "Aye."
