The Buffalo County Board of Equalization met Dec. 23, 2024 in recessed session of the Board of Commissioners and approved numerous motor vehicle tax exemption renewals.
County Treasurer Brenda Rohrich presented applications and the Board granted exemptions for Faith United Methodist, First United Methodist, the Great Plains Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, Mount Carmel, Prairie View Gardens, Sonshine World and Vetter Senior Living Kearney, among others. The Board separately approved a large renewal request for R.Y.D.E. Transit covering multiple vehicles; the motion passed with Commissioner Myron Kouba recorded as abstaining.
All other recorded exemption motions were approved by unanimous roll call. The Board then adjourned the Board of Equalization and returned to the regular meeting.
