Buffalo County commissioners approve routine business, set holiday schedule and accept reports

The Buffalo County Board of Commissioners on Nov. 12 approved routine administrative matters: the Oct. 22 meeting minutes were approved on a motion by Timothy Higgins, and Nov. 1 payroll claims were ratified following a motion by Sherry Morrow. The board accepted the Buffalo County Treasurer’s Oct. 2024 Fund Balance Report and the Clerk of the District Court’s Oct. 2024 report.
The board approved a motion authorizing Chairperson Ivan H. Klein to sign letters to the Nebraska Department of Transportation regarding October correspondence; that motion carried with a single dissent from Commissioner Bill Maendele.
Commissioners also voted to close the courthouse on Dec. 24, 2024 in observance of the Christmas holiday and scheduled a special board meeting for Dec. 23, 2024 at 9:00 A.M. These routine approvals keep county operations on track and preserve scheduled time for staff to complete year-end tasks.
What happens next: County departments will file the approved reports with the County Clerk; the board will reconvene for its Dec. 23 meeting and resume normal business on Nov. 26, 2024.
