Buffalo County sets Aug. 13 public hearing on vacating portion of Evergreen Road

The Buffalo County Board of Commissioners on July 9 received a petition and the highway superintendent’s report regarding vacating a portion of Evergreen Road and set a public hearing for Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. in the Buffalo County Boardroom.
Highway Superintendent John Maul presented the report concerning a 66-foot public road running north–south from the south right-of-way of 235th Road to the north right-of-way line of 220th Road. The petition and County report describe the road as bordering parts of the West Half of the Southwest Quarter and West Half of the Northwest Quarter of Section 30, Township 11 North, Range 16 West, and parts of the East Half of the Northeast Quarter and East Half of the Southeast Quarter of Section 25, Township 11 North, Range 17 West, Buffalo County, Nebraska.
The Board adopted Resolution 2024-29 to set the hearing and directed that the resolution be published for three consecutive weeks and that landowners abutting the road be notified by registered or certified mail no less than two weeks before the hearing.
Next steps: public hearing will be held Aug. 13 in the Buffalo County Boardroom; property owners will be notified per the resolution and the record will include mailed notices and published legal notice.
