CHARLOTTE COURT HOUSE, Va. — County planning staff reported several land-use items at the Charlotte County Planning Commission meeting on June 28, including a pre-application meeting for a proposed 100-megawatt solar project in the Red Oak area and a variance request to create a substandard-sized lot to subdivide a cemetery from a residential parcel.
Staff told the commission that the Board of Supervisors had scheduled a public hearing on the Randolph Solar application for July 5 and had tentatively scheduled a hearing for the Tall Pines application in August. The staff update did not include additional project details such as exact parcel numbers for the solar proposals or development timelines.
Chairman Andrew Carwile also noted he completed the first portion of the Certified Planning Commissioner’s program and provided information about the training during the meeting.
