Fulton County adopts 2026 budget with no tax increase

Fulton County commissioners unanimously adopted the county's 2026 budget during their Dec. 30, 2025 meeting in McConnellsburg, approving a Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution that keeps county taxes unchanged for the fiscal year.
Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed and Chief Financial Officer Mike Lamb presented the proposed budget and Reed told the board no changes had been made since the public advertisement. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to adopt the budget; the motion carried with all commissioners voting in favor.
Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve Resolution 8 of 2025, the Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution, which the board approved with no tax increase for 2026. The resolution and the budget will govern county appropriations and levies for the coming fiscal year.
The meeting record shows the board handled the vote as a routine, unanimous approval. The commissioners also handled related administrative business at the same meeting, including pension reporting, contractor retention and grant approvals.
