Buffalo County approves 2023–24 budget amendment and several routine measures, dismisses prior radio project bids

The Buffalo County Board of Commissioners on June 11 approved a budget amendment for the 2023–24 fiscal year after a public hearing that drew no comment. The amendment passed by unanimous vote.
On procurement matters, Lieutenant Robert Tubbs asked the board to dismiss the previous bid decision for the Radio Project Jail Portables made May 28; the board voted to dismiss those awarded bids. The board also approved a Special Designated Liquor License application for B&B Research and Investments LLC (Village 1919) for an event at "The Farm" in Shelton on June 29, 2024.
The board approved Change Order Request #1 for the Condition and Needs Assessment with Wilkins Architecture in the amount of $20,074.88 for travel expenses and authorized Two Rivers Public Health to provide flu shots to county employees; the Board Administrator will notify employees of availability. The board accepted the Emergency Management 2023 Summary Report and ratified the Chairperson’s signature on a letter of support for the City of Kearney.
During Citizen's Forum, resident Tom Rayburn raised concerns about the remodel of the Buffalo County Extension Building. Chairperson Ivan H. Klein adjourned the meeting until the next regular session on June 25, 2024.
