Board of Equalization approves motor vehicle tax exemptions; two abstentions recorded

The Buffalo County Board of Equalization, meeting Feb. 13 as part of the County Board session, approved several motor vehicle tax exemption renewals and tax list corrections.
County Treasurer Brenda Rohrich presented three exemption renewals. The board approved a 2022 Ford Expedition Max XLT exemption for Catholic High School Kearney on a motion by Commissioner Bill Maendele, seconded by Commissioner Daniel Lynch; the vote was unanimous.
A multi-vehicle exemption renewal for CHI Good Samaritan (numerous vehicles listed) was approved on a motion by Commissioner Ron Loeffelholz, seconded by Commissioner Myron Kouba; Commissioner Bill Maendele abstained. A renewal for Community Action Partnership of Mid-Nebraska (2024 Chevrolet Silverado) was approved on a motion by Commissioner Daniel Lynch, seconded by Commissioner Ron Loeffelholz; Commissioner Myron Kouba abstained.
The board also approved Tax List Corrections numbered 5009 through 5010 as submitted by County Assessor Roy Meusch on a unanimous vote. The Board adjourned the Board of Equalization and returned to the regular meeting.
