Board of Equalization renews motor-vehicle tax exemptions for local nonprofits

The Buffalo County Board of Commissioners recessed into its Board of Equalization on Nov. 25 to consider motor-vehicle tax-exemption renewals submitted by the County Treasurer.
The board approved a renewal for the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society Home Care covering a 2010 Ford Fusion and multiple later-year Ford Fusion sedans (motion by Loeffelholz, seconded by Klein; unanimous vote). The board also approved a larger renewal request from the Community Action Partnership of Mid-Nebraska that covered a fleet of vehicles including multiple Chevy Uplanders, Dodge Grand Caravans, several Ford Cutaways and E450 cutaway vehicles, a 2014 Chevy G2500 and others. That motion passed with an abstention by Commissioner Myron Kouba; the minutes record the remainder of the board voting "Aye."
The minutes list the vehicle makes and model years for the Community Action submission but do not include license numbers or detailed vehicle identification; the approvals were entered into the minutes and the board reconvened the regular meeting at 9:48 A.M.
